Frequently asked questions

Everything you might be wondering about LoveLee Rolls — our hand-rolled cinnamon rolls, ordering, fundraisers, catering, and business gifts here in Richmond, Virginia. Still stuck? Drop us a line.

About the rolls

What are LoveLee Rolls?

LoveLee Rolls are soft, hand-rolled cinnamon rolls baked in small batches in Richmond, Virginia. Christa and Tyson Lee started rolling them back in a Mississippi kitchen in 2015, and the recipe has been a family affair ever since — sugar and cinnamon folded into pillowy dough, every pan rolled by hand and finished with our signature maple coffee glaze. We sell them by the pan (8 rolls to a pan) for fundraisers, catering, business gifts, and at events around the Richmond area.

What makes LoveLee Rolls special?

What makes LoveLee Rolls special is that every pan is hand-rolled from scratch and blanketed in our signature maple coffee glaze — the part everyone fights over. We don't take shortcuts: real butter, real cinnamon, dough proofed and rolled by hand, and small batches so nothing comes out rushed. It's the same recipe Christa has rolled since 2015, made by family in Richmond, Virginia, and meant to be passed around the table.

What is the maple coffee glaze?

The maple coffee glaze is LoveLee Rolls' signature finish — a warm, sweet glaze with notes of maple and coffee that gets poured generously over every pan of our cinnamon rolls. It's the thing people remember (and the part everyone fights over). Every pan we bake in Richmond, Virginia gets the same generous blanket of it, whether it's headed to a fundraiser, a catering order, or a business gift.

What's in LoveLee Rolls, and what about allergens?

LoveLee Rolls are made from scratch with simple cinnamon-roll ingredients — flour, real butter, sugar, cinnamon, and our signature maple coffee glaze. Because of that, the rolls contain wheat/gluten and dairy (butter and milk). We bake by hand in small batches and don't currently offer a gluten-free or allergen-free version. If you have a specific allergy or dietary question, the safest thing is to reach out to us directly at swirl@loveleerolls.comand we'll give you a straight answer before you order.

How do I store LoveLee Rolls — and how long do they keep?

Enjoy them fresh, or freeze them for later. LoveLee Rolls come to you fully baked and iced, so they're best enjoyed warm and fresh within about 24 hours — a few seconds in the microwave or a low oven brings them right back to life. Not eating the whole pan at once? Pop it in the freezer and reheat them later, following the directions on the lid, whenever a cinnamon-roll morning calls.

Ordering, area & delivery

How do I order LoveLee Rolls, and what areas do you serve?

You can order LoveLee Rolls right from our website— pick a fundraiser for your cause or catering for your gathering, choose how many pans, and set a pickup or delivery date around the bake. We're based in Richmond, Virginia and serve the Greater Richmond area. Want to grab a pan in person instead? Catch us at farmers' markets, festivals, and pop-ups around town — check our Events page for where we'll be next.

What does a pan of LoveLee Rolls cost?

A pan of LoveLee Rolls is $15 for catering orders, and each pan holds 8 hand-rolled cinnamon rolls finished with our maple coffee glaze. Larger orders get volume discounts, so the more pans you order, the better the per-pan price. Fundraiser pricing works a little differently — your group pays a wholesale price per pan and keeps the difference (see the fundraiser questions below).

Can I pick up, or do you deliver?

Both — you can pick up your LoveLee Rolls from our Richmond, Virginia kitchen (free), or we can deliver locally around the Greater Richmond area for a flat delivery fee. You'll choose pickup or delivery when you place your order, and we'll share the pickup address in your confirmation. Whatever's easiest for your group, your office, or your gathering.

How far ahead do I need to order?

Plan on a few days for smaller orders and up to a couple of weeks for big ones. Because Christa bakes LoveLee Rolls by hand in small batches, the lead time scales with the size of your order — a handful of pans can be ready in about 3 days, while a large fundraiser of a hundred-plus pans needs closer to two weeks. The sooner you reach out, the easier it is to lock in the date you want. When in doubt, just ask us.

Fundraising

How do cinnamon-roll fundraisers work with LoveLee Rolls?

LoveLee Rolls fundraisers are sell-first, which means your group never fronts money or gets stuck with leftover inventory. Here's how it works, step by step:

  1. Apply to partner with LoveLee Rolls through our website and tell us about your group and your cause.
  2. Get approved and set your sale window— we'll give you a window to sell in and a pickup date to bake toward.
  3. Sell pans to your supporters first — your people order and pay during the window, so you know exactly how many pans you need.
  4. We bake fresh for your pickup date — every pan is hand-rolled and made for that date, not pulled from a freezer.
  5. You hand out warm cinnamon rolls and keep the margin — your group pays LoveLee a wholesale price per pan and keeps the difference your supporters paid.

It's a sweeter, simpler fundraiser: you collect the orders first, we roll, everybody wins. Apply to partner when you're ready.

Who can run a LoveLee Rolls fundraiser?

Just about any group with a cause can run a LoveLee Rolls fundraiser — schools, sports teams, churches, nonprofits, PTAs, booster clubs, scout troops, and community organizations are all welcome. You do not need to be a registered nonprofit. A youth soccer team raising money for new uniforms is just as welcome as a church or a 501(c)(3). If you've got people who love cinnamon rolls and a cause worth rallying for, you can fundraise with LoveLee Rolls here in the Richmond, Virginia area.

How much can our group raise, and how does the money work?

Your group keeps the margin between what your supporters pay and what you pay LoveLee Rolls — so the more pans you sell, the more you raise. Because it's sell-first, your group pays a wholesale price of roughly $8–$12 per pan (lower per pan as the order gets bigger), and groups typically sell their pans for around $15–$20 each, keeping the difference. We keep these as honest ranges rather than promises, since every group's price and pan count is a little different — but the model is simple: collect the orders, keep the margin, and we'll handle the baking.

Do we have to store frozen inventory for our fundraiser?

No — there's no frozen inventory to store or risk with a LoveLee Rolls fundraiser. Because every pan is baked fresh for your pickup date after your group has already sold them, nothing sits in a freezer going stale, and you're never stuck buying product you can't move. You collect your supporters' orders first, we bake exactly that many pans of fresh cinnamon rolls, and your group hands them out warm.
